The future of mankind depends on every person withdrawing into himself and finding his own depths, then coming forth to serve his fellow men

Our personality is what makes each of us unique on earth
For it to take form, we have to delve deep inside our self to realize our maximum potential

We will know we are on the right track by strong feelings of peace and self -esteem
Accomplishment of this goal demands long term dialogue with our self , sometimes going through hesitation and doubts but with necessary abstraction of influences from the outside in the choice of our ideals

People have a strong personality if they always conduct themselves according to their own personal conception of life. This demands not to be influenced by the outside, to have enough strength and confidence in our self not to be shaken by the opinions or behaviors of others

For this, a minimum of madness is necessary, or what others think is madness
Strong personalities are often considered fools because they live openly according to their thoughts. Of course, this scandalizes those who think like them but do not dare and, even more, people who do not share their opinion
Artists, often, are seen as fools because usually they are sincere

They do not fear to actualize deep and peculiar ideas that other people prefer to ignore, considering them insignificant and senseless

The productions of artists are the expression of their personality which had to be developed strong enough to express itself

Many people possess within themselves an artist lying dormant but they prefer to ignore this side of their personality

Of course, the question can be asked: but how do we discover our ideal?? Nature usually answers this

There is certainly for each of us an area where we can surpass our self. If we sincerely want to discover it, we will find it easily as all our faculties will point it out

Furthermore, we feel irresistibly attracted to it. However, we might not respond to it either because of pure ignorance of our self or because of lack of self-confidence. We might think it is a wonderful dream that we are not able to realize. We are not conscious of our potential

Maybe we do not know how to free our self .Jean-Jacques Rousseau starts his book The social Contract by this assertion. Man was born free, and he is everywhere in chains. We may think only others are good judges of our self. If the disapprove of us, it is certainly because our conduct is wrong. Unfortunately, people are very bad critics of others. Often, they do not know us well, but they think they do. They advise us according to a wrong view of our self. Why do they know us so little? Simply because our conduct is determined by outside factors and often does not correspond to our deepest being

Even if sometimes sincere, advice from others has little value. However, why many people depend so much on the judgment of others is because they do not know themselves well and believe everything others say about them. So all their life they mistake themselves for somebody they are not. They behave as characters who rarely reflect their real self and sometimes even make it a duty to hide. Their life is more or less wasted as they do not use their potential to its maximum. They are not men or women any more. They do not live, they vegetate

There could be another cause of the lack of personality: Weakness. The actualization of ideals might shock people around us. We must have the courage to upset habits, to show our self as we rally are, and not as others have always seen us

Above all, the development of personality requires isolation. Face to face with our self, it is indispensable to revise ideas inculcated by others or beliefs coming from our past bad experiences. This is possible only by moving away from the current, which irresistibly drags us in the direction we took by compliance. Hence, we can quiet our selves, retire from others, and especially take time to think –all of which, we must admit, are very difficult to do these days. Thus, the development of personality requires profound thinking
